This systematic review & meta-analysis of 23 studies including >150,000 patients found GLP-1 RAs were associated with:

⬇️ BMI
⬇️ IBD-related surgery
⬇️ IBD-related hospitalisation
✅ No signal of IBD worsening

GI adverse effects remain important, with discontinuation reported in 11–24% of patients.

An important and timely synthesis as obesity and metabolic disease become increasingly relevant in IBD care.

Anyone else with Crohn's or UC feel that high pollen revs up their bowel motility - irrespective of IBD activity?

It's a yearly pattern for me - I think it goes beyond scorching temperatures alone.

The biopsy result from my recent colonoscopy has confirmed active Crohn's. A great shame after so long in remission, but I shall roll with the punches as I always do.

Will be starting Wezemla, a biosimilar of ustekinumab (Stelara). #IBD
