@zerohedge@pulte@pulte’s bias for developers and private investors - including his and his family’s financial interests - needs to be looked at.
@pulte serves himself, not the American people.
The one element of private equity that feels under discussed is its almost always a race to see how much money can be stolen before the market corrects. You have a product people love and trust (Jersey Mike) and you exploit the love for it. People will eventually revolt but not before someone gets rich. The lie outpaces the discovery (hey the product is shit, used to love this) just fast enough. The brand gets wrecked, and the vampire squid moves on to its next host. Intentionally enshitifying things people love might as well be financial cancer.
Lindsay Clancy juror Paula Devlin tells @gayleking that the holdout juror was a Black man, whom she estimates is in his 30s. Devlin says after watching a video of an interview with Clancy, the holdout juror “realized that it wasn’t murder in the first degree,” adding the jury “saw his doubt.”
The judge declared a mistrial after the jury was deadlocked 11-1.
Devlin also shares what the jury discussed during deliberations and the impact of testimony from Patrick Clancy.
The anti-not guilty people are enjoying the 'holdout-juror turned out to be black!' plot twist, understandably so, but they should still be fully prepared for a Shyamalanian 'he finally comes forward for an interview & turns out to be a moron whose reasoning was junk' ending
@dyingscribe I expect it’s a tad rhetorical. Every juror saying they voted NGRI to “get Lindsay the help she needs” and to force the medical community to pay attention to the issue is addressing what they think is the underlying cause, not the crime.
@estherzelda0514 Patrick Clancy and those close to the family have a psychological need to believe she was insane. If she wasn’t, he’d have even more demons to wrestle with. He asked her whether she intended to deceive him (by sending him out) and she denied it. He wants to believe that.
What is the rule in MA regarding juror privacy after a trial? Is there any? This incremental doxxing of the holdout juror is reckless, shameful, and I would hope illegal.
NEW: Lindsay Clancy juror Paula Devlin reveals on 'CBS Mornings' that the lone, male holdout juror who voted to find Clancy guilty of murdering her children was the *only* person of color -- a black man.
The 11 not-guilty jurors -- who hectored him for a week to cave -- were all white.
I think that Lindsay’s family, including her ex husband and in laws, are all in denial about who she really was, and giving the fawning testimony about what a perfect mother she was and having total restraint on any critical engagement with who she actually was, presenting this sympathetic sob story where killing the kids came from nowhere, is also exculpatory in terms of their own failure to notice signs or take action to prevent what she eventually did to their family members.
The story they went with at trial relieves them of responsibility in the same way it relieves Lindsay of responsibility, and that’s much easier to live with than the presence of doubt, open questions of “what if?” and the knowledge that perhaps there WAS something they could have done.
The current fiction relieves everyone of any psychic burden and allows them to preserve the good memories instead of having them all tainted, it allows them to believe, which when you’ve suffered the enormous loss that they did, is no small thing.
