Over 92% of drugs that appear successful in animal tests go on to fail in humans. Surely, in 2026, we can do better than this. Stand with Animal Free Research UK in support of a future free from animal testing. Join the movement supporting Herbie’s Law. https://t.co/g7gKbaQk6I

When cows are allowed to keep their calves, we glimpse a dairy system that feels more natural, more transparent and, ultimately, more trustworthy

@danbarker@DeborahMeaden It’s a great thing that Michelle has done. People need to know the intense suffering that farmed animals experience. Let’s hope that Luna’s plight has made some people understand what needs to change. We can’t treat sentient beings like this.
A woman called Michelle Farnham is now 17 days into a 3 week protest, living in a cage, at Trafalgar Square, to try and save a pig called Luna (who lives in an identical cage). She stays there day and night.
It has not had any big coverage, as far as I can see. I think it's a bit of a shame that violent and disruptive protest gets so much coverage, while quiet sort of self-sacrificing things like this, that do not harm anybody or any property, get less attention.
Whether you or I agree with her, or what she's trying to do, what an impressive commitment, eh?
The call for a cage-free future for mother pigs is making headlines. 🐷
@Daily_Express has reported on our joint letter urging Defra to ensure the phase-out of farrowing crates doesn't simply replace one cage with another.

Please sign the petition to free Luna a pig who has been in a tiny crate all her life. So tiny she can’t turn round or walk. She’s one of millions of pigs who are treated in this cruel way and suffer in silence.
Imagine spending your ENTIRE LIFE in a tiny cage like this. That's the life of the vast majority of hens raised for their eggs. 💔
There is a better way: Switching out #eggs w/ #plantbased alternatives. ❌🥚❌
As heatwaves hit Britain, spare a thought for farm animals @guardian
“The Animal Welfare (Sentience) Act 2022 requires ministers to consider animals as sentient beings when developing policy, yet current discourse on heatwaves and farming treats animals almost entirely as economic assets: deaths are framed as “reduced productivity”, rather than as sentient individuals enduring terrible suffering”
