Sometimes, while doing household chores like washing dishes, I’d jokingly say,

“Basuh pinggan ini kerja perempuan la, Mama.”

“Banyak la! Siapa ajar?” Hahaha.

So, I took advantage of it. When it came to taking out the trash, I’d ask my sister to do it.

I know how to do all the household chores—cleaning, laundry, cooking, washing dishes, everything.

I can also handle what’s traditionally considered men’s work, like plumbing, wiring, and carpentry.

I still believe in gender roles, but we should share them and at least help out. For example, if your wife is cooking, you should wash the dishes, clean the table, or sometimes cook yourself.
