#DallasCowboys DT Solomon Thomas on Marshawn Kneeland: “Marshawn was in the building, smiling every day. He was happy. He was listening to music. He was dancing all the time. But that’s the thing with mental health and suicide, you just never know what someone’s going through."
“Someone could be smiling, someone could be dancing, laughing, having a great time, expressing all this joy, but on the inside, they could really be fighting a battle that you never know about. You don’t know what the chemicals are telling them in their brain. You don’t know the trauma from their childhood. You don’t know everything they’ve been going through. And that’s why it’s so important to be kind."
Dak Prescott’s 2023 = Joe Burrow’s 2024.
But look at the narrative: Burrow gets his flowers. Dak doesn’t.
Burrow missed the playoffs. Dak made it. Burrow had the 14th - ranked coaching staff. Dak had the 28th.
At some point, we gotta admit: Dak is that good.
#Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott wears wrist tape with the message “Ask 4 Help,” promoting suicide awareness.
Dak started this campaign after losing his brother in 2020.
Make sure to check in on your family and loved ones today, because you never know what is truly going on ❤️
POWERFUL: #Cowboys Dak Prescott just spoke to local high school students about suicide prevention last year.
“Everyone is special. Your life is special. Even if you don't think it's special to you, it's special to people”
“You're not alone. I promise you
Yesterday marked 12 years since Dak Prescott’s mother, Peggy Prescott, died from colon cancer. He was asked about it after the game.
“Heavy hearts today. This game is hard. But when you deal with a day like today, you realize that life is hard. I’m blessed to be able to do what I do. I’m thankful for it in so many ways. I don’t even know if I can even explain how thankful I am for the time I had with her.
“To have as great of a mother as I did, a selfless mother, everything that you see me do and I am is because of her. This loss is nothing compared to life. That’s why I don’t have any concerns about what I’ll be able to do, this team will be able to do, and the way that we can respond.
“It was a tough day. And it’s a day you damn sure want to win. I thought this morning about a lot of the Monday night games that we watched together and wanted to get a win. And I didn’t. But I know that doesn’t take how proud she is away. Doesn’t take anything away from who I am, and just keep pushing for her.”
The hate for Dak Prescott makes no sense...
His mom died of cancer, his brother committed sui**de, and he suffered a devastating injury.
Dak overcame it all to become a Top 5 QB in the league.
His journey is nothing short of extraordinary 🥹
