Do surgical curricula deliver a day 1 consultant or do new CCT holders find they need to do a fellowship?
If so, why? To meet person spec of cons job or to gain confidence or other?
If there is a gap, which specialties is it widest in?

#systematicreview of targeted axillary dissection in node-positive #breastcancer treated with neoadjuvant systemic therapy: variation in type of marker and timing of placement
➡️ https://t.co/ufRez3Dz3j
In node-positive (cN+) breast cancer treated with neoadjuvant systemic therapy, combining sentinel lymph node biopsy and targeted lymph node (TLN) excision (targeted axillary dissection, TAD) increases accuracy. TAD procedures differ in terms of the TLN excision technique.
This systematic review aimed to provide an overview of TAD procedures regarding definitive marker type and timing of placement.
Owing to study heterogeneity, the optimal technique could not be determined. High-quality prospective studies reporting all relevant aspects of TAD are needed.
