Wonderful news for the conservation of Baer's Pochard in China as it has now been afforded national Class I status, giving significant new levels of protection to it and, importantly, its wetland habitats.

There is a very active Baer's Pochard Task Force under the East Asian - Australasian Flyway Partnership https://t.co/lxINde03rF. While the species is still critically endangered, we know more about it now compared to a few years ago and have an Action Plan!
