As high tide approached, the beach on South Uist was full of waders including 32 bar-tailed godwits. Too windy for a hide but my ghillie suit did the trick.

In more interesting news….history back on the #colourringed and #flagged #Dunlin that was at #patchbirding for a few days in early May. Ringed in 🇳🇱 at Griend, seen in Mauritania 🇲🇷 and first UK 🇬🇧 sighting 😁

It has been an amazing 24 hours for our third 'Ultimate Shetland' group of the season with fabulous views of Red-necked Phalarope (pictured), a night trip to see Storm Petrels on Mousa and a very active Bottlenose Dolphin - still exceptionally rare in Shetland inshore waters.
