Is… Final Fantasy X my new favorite???

During my time on the Camino de Santiago, I gave myself two required texts: Paulo Coehlo’s “The Pilgrimage” and FF X. Having now completed a pilgrimage myself, FF X skyrocketed back to the top of my rankings. The linearity used to irk me, but that linearity is a canon pilgrimage experience. Plus, there’s a deeply spiritual aspect to watching for well-worn paths and guideposts as you make your way, ESPECIALLY when you have to necessarily detach from them, as Yuna does. The game does such an incredible job of disrupting and rebuilding its characters, as well as the player… just like a real pilgrimage does.

Now I am fully inspired to revise last year’s FFX digital pilgrim curriculum in light of this. TBH, it makes me want to guide FFX fans on the Camino. Maybe one day.

That said, you may never walk the Camino, but the walk to Zanarkand is a great substitute too. If you pick it up, let me know and I’ll send you some helpful resources!

my suggestion is try to take walks regularly. look closely at your surroundings, there's so much to see and feel in nature. sometimes, you'll find a simple thing that eases your heart; it reminds you to take things slowly while keep going on. may peace be upon your heart ♥︎
