I am nobody. I have travelled wide across Nigeria. I grew up in the North & now work in the South. I have seen enough of Arewa issues & I am fed up! But what can I do? I only write hoping that we can gradually change the Arewa narrative. I compiled few of my Arewa threads below.
"I’m sorry you’re going through this.”
“That sounds really hard.”
“I’m here with you.”
Or just listen in silence.
Empathy doesn’t require solutions.
Listening doesn’t require stories about ourselves. Being kind costs nothing.
Let's stop dismissing pain & hurting people in 2026.
Going into 2026, we really need to relearn how to listen, not to compete, not to compare, not to minimise, but just to be present. When someone shares pain, loss, sickness, fear, or disappointment, what they are asking for is not analysis or comparison. Saying things like ......
“Your own is small”
“So‑so‑so won worse pass yours”
“At least you’re still better than…”
doesn’t make anyone stronger. Pain is not a competition abeg. This behaviour only teaches people to STOP OPENING UP. Sometimes the most powerful response is simply.....
Nikam meye matsalan mu ne yan Arewa? I cant understand why we are not angry yet over all that is happening in the North. Ko sai nesa ta matso kusa tukun & half of us are dead? Sokoto & Katsina USED to be the most peaceful states. ABJ-KD USED to be the one of the safest roads.
Dear Arewa, you will keep seeing the bias if we continue like this. #JusticeForKano9 is all you can do, and it ends here. Where is our own media? Nobody will beat our drums for us. We are in so much mess. Thanks to social media, we rush to tell the world ALL our problems.
Dear Arewa, we cant keep complaining about media largely owned by others. We should be the ones to control our narrative. We are in a far better position to show the world what we are made of. Stop complaining about media bias. What are we doing about it? Nothing.
May Allah soften our hearts, protect us from becoming hard and insensitive, and guide our generation. Sometimes it is best to step back, breathe and protect your own peace. Your soul is too valuable to be consuming bitterness daily!
This app is too unhealthy. Seems like people are in competition to hurl the most hurtful words at each other, daily. No compassion, no consideration. Your mutuals are dying daily. Will you be proud of your TL is you drop dead today? Allah ya jikan musulmi. Allah shirya mana zuria
Daily, TL seems like a battle place, where people compete over who can be most cruel or most insensitive. We all forget that real human beings are behind these screens. Men! People are grieving, some struggling with life or depression. Pls & pls, be kind with your words.
#Diary of the lost dreams.
I am a lazy pencil artist. I want to learn how to paint! I somehow convinced Maryam Maigida that l am a worthy deciple. She started with teaching me

...papers left unpublished, siting idle, wasting contribution to knowledge. Along the line, I became a husband, then a girl dad, & everything changed! Now l just want to make money & live up to responsibilities.
Cheers to all the lost dreams. Don't grow up. Adulthood na scam!
I want to travel the world since l am done scavenging most of Nigeria. I have only seen less than 10 countries and getting old. I want to nurture 3 start ups that I believe will revolutionalise Nigeria. I want to return to PhD in an lvy League university. I have so many....
Nowadays, for a conscious muslim, there are many halal options for pension, stocks, bonds, bank accounts etc. Unfortunately, the investment firms are not doing enough with publicity. Ignorance is not an excuse. An wuce babin lalura.
After a decade of trying various investments and getting burnt every time, I have come to realise that it is almost impossible for a Nigerian worker to operate a side hustle without atleast 80% oversight. To me, real estate and stocks seems to be most viable halal option.
