@___TheGOOdWitch That’s an excellent question. Iterability would be one way, likelihood to actually encourage the best out of you, more likely to involve meaningful self sacrifice
@KevinBerge9223 Yeah I think you’re a bit behind on recent history. As for David yes he committed adultery, had several wives, arranged for the death of a witness to his adultery among other things. What’s your point?
@BarBQ96 That’s an excellent question. The philosopher Boethius made a distinction between time and eternity. Time = events becoming present ie successive temporal events.
Eternity = the whole of life possessed as present.
The impact on foreknowledge and free will is also fascinating….
@Maximumatheist So was Genesis intended to be a scientific manual?
Does the bible consistently describe God as omnipotent etc or does it imply a more relational and dynamic knowledge?
Does the bible describe God as a creative force or prescribe God as the permanent changer of things
@Ernest1588761 Alternatively….the Israelites interpreted divine judgment in a certain way and actually the teaching of Christ is the lens through which we should see the actions described in the Old Testament
