I've been selected to speak at @WordPressMasaka 2026 in Uganda ๐บ๐ฌ
One problem. I can't fund the trip.
The only travel fund I could apply for? Budget exhausted.
I might miss one of the biggest opportunities of my career. ๐งต

If you know of any funding opportunities or can contribute directly, my DMs are open. A repost could also put this in front of someone who can.
The @WordPress community has always shown up for its people. I'm hoping it shows up now.

I organize and co-organize Kumasi WooCommerce and WordPress communities.
Getting selected to speak at WordCamp Masaka felt like everything I've been building toward.
The connections. The exposure. The value I'd bring back home. All of it on the line.
@bonkitybonk It hasn't been passed into law yet, but that's not the future I'm even talking about. I'm just concerned about the future of a country trying so hard to handicap the tech community while she's already struggling to keep up with globally.
Less than 24 hours ago, we started a petition against the NITA Bill 2025.
We just crossed 2,000 signatures. That shows how serious we are.
But weโre still far from our goal of 10,000.
Make your voice heard.

there's one thing i refuse to believe.
that sections 35, 36, 46 and 49 of the NITA draft bill were drafted by a human.
you cannot regulate what you don't understand.
they clearly don't understand how the tech ecosystem works.
so they opened aku AI. typed "draft a comprehensive IT regulation." copied. pasted and submitted it.
because no human being who has ever used the internet in ghana looked at this bill and said "yes you need a certificate before you build a to do app"
no human did that.๐ญ
