@HGL3_ @villareport In part, yes. Maatsen was a PSR deal with Chelsea, whereby Chelsea took Kellyman too. In general Onana has been poor, whereas Malen wasn’t overly expensive at £20m for a player of his experience. Why Emery doesn’t play him, is beyond me. He always looked lively last season.
@Robarbarian38@villareport It’s quite clearly having an impact on anyone involved with Aston Villa. That filters right through to the players.
But hey, at least we have some better figures on a spreadsheet. That’s more important in modern football. So it’s not all bad.
Unai Emery currently has the highest win percentage of any manager in Aston Villa history at 55.7% across 95 games in charge.
To put that into context, George Ramsey, the great player and manager from their formative years as a club is 2nd on 49.59% whilst the highest manager in the era after World War II is Graham Taylor at 45.77%.
Into the UEFA Conference, then the Champions League and now top of that table after 3 wins from 3 to start this season’s European campaign; the job Emery’s done in less than 2 years in the role is ridiculous.
@myoldmansaid Judging by the club responses, they simply don’t give a damn about real supporter issues. That much is clear! It must be incredibly infuriating to even attend these meetings. Every issue raised is simply palmed off and dismissed. Thanks for trying on our behalf though 👍
