@Magarner9 @jp_gambatese The flames could add more quantity or quality, I was just spitballing since all 3 teams could benefit from this move. The wings need either young players with potential or assets they can use to trade for players, CGY need quality when they have quantity, and FLA needs to win now

@davedubbin85 @a_darkcorner Trading for 4th overall without including 6th overall likely takes 3 first round picks (VGK ‘26, VGK ‘27, COL ‘28), plus one of the high 2nds this year (35 or 36th OA), plus a guy like Zary and a guy like whitecloud. It would still be worth it in my opinion, but pretty expensive

@frank_seravalli Rielly and 1st overall to the flames for Olli maata (could retain too, leafs get 4-6 mil in cap relief), 6th overall, ‘27 VGK 1st, ‘26 NYR 2nd (35th OA), ‘26 UTA 2nd (~51st OA). Leafs gain an extra first, 2 extra seconds, replace rielly for 4-5 mil less, & only move down 5 spots.

@crozier97 @NHL_Muse If the flames were capped out I’d agree, but they have so much space it doesn’t really matter. I could still see him bouncing back to be a 65ish point player, but even if he doesn’t, this trade wont look too bad if one of those prospects turns out to be something
