@Q__Aaron My only thing would be if you truly think Viggo is a Centre, it’s becomes a really tough choice. Win-win still, but position value on the C def higher.
Win-win either way. Personally, I’ve gone back and forth on them. I do believe next year, Verhoeff takes a huge step and some teams are left kicking themselves. Carels MIGHT start off slower going against better competition, but he a stud too.
Apparently everyone reporting who teams are taking for dinner in Buffalo…. I’ve heard #flames are with Verhoeff and Lawrence. Having previously done so with Carels and the Rucks.
@LaForgesVisor Not sure! Take it with a grain of salt though. 2 years ago I heard they met with a bunch of guys and only came away with 1 of them. Draft time is wild
@a_darkcorner Between these two. Second scenario is more likely, Zary and Whitecloud probably have more perceived value in this market than other markets. I don’t think the first scenario is even close, value wise.
#flames most likely at 6: Carels, Bjork, Verhoeff. Don’t sleep on them drafting 4th if a winger falls. Hawks would get multiple assets, plus a guy like Smits at 6.
@Chens89@NoDakMets I think there’s a ton of factors that can change how we look at the leagues. Carels was also recruited, so I’m assuming those types of discussions have taken place (playing time, situations etc). The one thing that’s a guarantee is more gym time, at that age is beneficial
Carson Carels, a projected top-10 pick in next month’s #NHLDraft, has committed to the University Of North Dakota (NCAA) for 26/27.
The defenseman put up 73 points in 58 GP with Prince George Cougars (WHL) in 25/26. #4 ranked 2026 draft prospect by @eliteprospects
@NoDakMets 100% level competition. I think recently, NCAA has evolved to be a higher level of competition….. I don’t think we’ve gotten a good handle on how big the gap is yet, since the changes are so new.
