@hdpdemirtas, former co-chair of our sister party HDP (now @DEMGenelMerkezi), is one of the many victims of Erdoğan’s crackdown on the democratic opposition. We have repeatedly called for his release and condemn the continued persecution of opposition leaders and members in Türkiye.

Using sham allegations and instrumentalising the judiciary to silence political opponents is unacceptable. Democracy cannot thrive when dissent is punished.

We stand in solidarity with Selahatin Demirtaş and all those fighting for democracy and the rule of law in Türkiye.

From SDF detention centers to Deraa?

Assessments are unveiling that Syria's jihadists transferred ISIS detainees from SDF detention centers months ago to the Deraa governorate where they were given a cover from the regime. Israeli and Jordanian services detected the move and their strikes in South Syria therefore were on ISIS.

Egyptian, UAE, Libyan, Moroccan services were apparently also aware.

Gire Spi came under the control of the Turkish Armed Forces and affiliated Syrian National Army (SNA) mercenaries following "Operation Peace Spring" in October 2019.

The 2019 offensive displaced over 150,000 to 200,000 original residents, predominantly ethnic Kurds.

In the aftermath, Turkish-backed mercenaries facilitated the settlement of Arab settlers from other regions of Syria into the vacated homes left behind by Kurdish residents.
