Cape Verde may have lost to Argentina, but they fought until the very last minute and showed the heart of champions. Taking one of the world's best teams all the way is no small feat. The days of expecting easy wins against African teams are over. African football continues to grow in quality, confidence, and competitiveness. Every top team now knows they must earn every victory.
Respect to Cape Verde for an unforgettable performance. Africa keeps rising. Best story to tell in 2026 and beyond. Well done #CapeVerde
Congratulations, Argentina as well.
@reda_getachew@ElizabethTecle@_hudsonc How about your Ethiopia, your greater Tigray? Do you remember Yugoslavia? It sounds familiar with what's going on in your Ethiopian empire..
What port dispute?
Ethiopia is a landlocked country, period!
It has no legal or historical right to claim another nation’s ports.
At best, it can request commercial access through diplomacy, not make demands.

Isaias Afewerki will be remembered as a failed leader defined by cruelty and collapse. He will leave us behind a nation broken, institutions gutted, infrastructure ruined, and citizens abandoned. He has effectively dismantled the core institution of society, the family. #Eritrea
For thirty-four years you have ruled a nation with an iron fist, and while you may silence people inside the borders, you cannot stop the world from seeing what Eritrea has become. Everyone sees it: while nations around us are building, advancing, investing, and lifting their people, Eritrea has been reduced to one of the darkest places on earth — not because we lacked resources, not because we lacked talent, not because our people were unwilling, but because the system you defend deliberately destroyed everything it was supposed to protect.
The world builds its nations by empowering its people. You destroyed a nation by breaking its people.
Look at Ethiopia — cities rising, industries expanding, universities filled with youth who learn, innovate, dream, and create. Look at Sudan — even in chaos, they find ways to rebuild communities and move forward. Look at Tigray — a people who survived war and devastation, yet still managed to rebuild homes, families, and life itself.
And then look at Eritrea: a nation that never got the chance to build anything, because you never allowed it.
No new cities. No modern schools. No functioning universities. No reliable hospitals. No free citizens. No future.
Eritrean youth are not leaving for “a better life” — they are leaving to save their lives. Eritrean mothers bury sons without knowing why. Eritrean fathers disappear without a trial. A whole population lives in permanent fear.
And then you claim you “built the minds of the people.” No. You shattered them. You took a nation full of intelligence, dignity, talent and potential — and turned it into raw material for a system that builds nothing but suffering.
Because while the rest of Africa builds the future, builds democracy, builds industry, builds hope — you built only prisons.
Torture chambers. Container cells. Endless military camps. An entire country turned into an open-air prison for innocent people.
This is the truth every general in the world understands: A population that is not empowered, not educated, not free, and not allowed to dream — will abandon the land that betrays them. Eritrea is empty today because you chose power over humanity.
But there is one thing you can never control: The people who flee carry the truth with them. And that truth grows louder every single day.
Call it whatever you want. Hide behind as many excuses as you wish. Repeat your propaganda until your voice breaks. It will not change the reality the world already knows:
A regime that kills its own people does not build a nation — it buries one.
And when history finally judges you, it will show no mercy, because the entire world has seen the contrast: While other nations built life, you built death. #Eritrea #NoMorePFDJTerror

See the stark contrast:
@abiyhmedali sits with @BillGates and the world’s most influential leaders – talking about the future, innovation, and global progress. Ethiopia is showing leadership and an understanding that real change requires collaboration and vision.
Meanwhile: There sits #Isaias_Afewerki, wasting his time with @StalinTeklu – a YouTuber with no job, no direction, no relevance to the Eritrean people. This is not a meeting for the future – it’s a disgrace, a pathetic gathering of two losers who have lost all touch with reality and with the real needs of their people.
Isaias Afewerki has crushed the dreams of generations of Eritreans. He has destroyed every spark of hope in the youth, imprisoning anyone who dares to dream of freedom.
But instead of taking responsibility for the suffering he’s caused, he sits here – as if this meeting means anything. As if this is leadership. It is not. It is a shameful performance.
⚡ Let’s be clear: Eritrea deserves better than to be trapped in this endless cycle of dictatorship and lies.
We are done with: ❌ Empty words. ❌ Meetings with people who offer nothing for our people. ❌ A regime that suffocates every dream of a better life.
💪 We demand: ✅ Freedom. ✅ Justice. ✅ A future where we decide, not where losers pretend they have the answers.
No more loser meetings! No more betrayals of the people! Freedom for Eritrea – now!

Dawit Isaak has spent 8,602 days in solitary confinement under Eritrea’s totalitarian regime-no trial, no charge, no humanity. This is not governance, it’s calculated cruelty of a regime that fears truth, silences conscience, & punishes hope #FreeDawitIsaak#PressFreedom#Eritrea
Isaias Afewerki’s aging leadership leaves Eritrea’s future uncertain. After decades of brutal rule, change is inevitable. What comes next? The regime clings to power, yet the people deserve hope, freedom, and a path forward. #Eritrea#PFDJ
As this week is a time when Orthodox Christians fast and repent their sins, they should also remember their true Patriarch, Abune Antonios, who was unjustly imprisoned for 16 years before his passing.
The #Ethiopians came over from all parts of the country, near and far, from #Tigray, #Amhara, and #Oromo, some from more than 1000 km away, and occupied our land; they pillaged, they killed, and they burned people sometimes alive. We did not invade their land. Now as if all that was distant history, #Ethiopia's PM is mobilizing to invade our land again. We have not forgotten. We don't want to go through those atrocities again. We will defend and defeat the invaders as we did in the past.
@ElizabethTecle@realDonaldTrump@SecRubio@DrJPPham@TiborPNagyJr@martinplaut Absolutely sister Elsa! While our people are suffering under the rule of the brutal regime, also known as "The North Korea of Africa", we refuse to look the other way. Our people deserve hope, peace and opportunities NOT rations, wars and rumors of wars.
Thank brother Awet for your voice to our people who are trapped under one of the cruelest dictatorships on earth. You’re absolutely right
#Eritrean regime controls our people lives through fear and hunger; missing a propaganda meeting? You lose your food ration coupons. This is how the brutal dictator keeping our people trapped

The Eritrean ruling party is obsessed with control. If you don’t participate in the regime’s propaganda meetings, the penalties are harsh including: financial penalties, worst yet, your rations can get cut off.

Eritrean youth flee a nation denying them education, freedom, and a future. The Blue Revolution reflects their pain, not their potential. They are NOT terrorists. @Bundeskanzler https://t.co/YmnRBbqF3I
