@thsottiaux The Chrome control extension also has serious stability problems. It frequently times out while trying to connect, making it unusable. Even when it connects occasionally, the experience is highly unstable and difficult to use reliably.
Remote Control cannot be enabled in Codex for Windows.
I am using the Codex for Windows desktop app, version:from 26.707.3748.0 to 26.721.81911. On the “Set up Remote” page, clicking “Allow” always results in the message “Unable to enable Remote Control. Please try again.” No QR code is ever displayed.
I have already confirmed that:
Only one ChatGPT/Codex instance is running;
The app was fully closed and restarted;
I tested both normal launch and administrator launch;
The computer was restarted;
The app was repaired through Windows Settings;
The repair completed successfully, but the issue remains;
The failure occurs before the QR code is generated, so the phone, QR scanning, and phone network are not involved yet.
The local Codex logs show that the remoteControl/enable request is called, but no remote connection is created. Could you please check whether this is a Windows client issue, an account eligibility issue, or a server-side Remote Control problem?
