There's a lot of panic around a potential Super El Nino and drought over India.

But don't judge India's monsoon by El Nino alone.

The Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) is an Indian Nino of the Indian monsoon. A positive IOD improves rainfall over India & has, in the past, offset the adverse effects of even strong El Nino events!

El Nino is important, but it is not the only factor. IOD is the main factor for Indian monsoon.
