Dale was already my favorite player before that, but this cemented it. I wore #3 as a kid for Dale. I begged my parents to get tickets when he made his first trip back to Atlanta as a Phillie. Luckily, I was there. Hall of Fame or no, thank you for the memories, Dale.
I doubt this will reach him, but @DaleMurphy3 is a Hall of Famer. Even if he never gets the recognition and induction he deserves by sports writers, he is a Hall of Fame person.
When I was 10, I had surgery on my ankle. While I was in surgery, Dale came to my room, met my mom &
granny, and gave two signed cards to give me. My dad was so mad that he was in recovery area. He nor I got to meet Dale. As kids do, I lost those cards over the years, but I am hoping and praying Dale gets the votes tomorrow. My dad and I plan to be in Cooperstown if he does.
@Jolly_Olive Thankfully, we only have to endure the games. Chip would be a bridge too far. Lol.
Congrats on having an owner that wants to win and invest in his team. What's that like?
@Jolly_Olive Hahaha. The way Harris has been hitting, I'd consider it. But still way too much upside to give up on Harris, yet. We basically only have pitching prospects that are close. You could have Murphy, though (but I know you don't need him).
@Jomboy_ Jimmy, I'm curious...I'd love to see this on Jimmy's 3 things. Given the vastly different dimensions from their old home parks to their new home parks, how many hits/HRs could Soto, Fried, & Crochet have gained or lost in their new parks?
@ChrisRoseSports Baseball Today Question - Given Ron Washington's interview this week, when was a time a manager or player COULD have thrown someone under the bus and it would have been 100% understandable, but they chose not to?
@Kris_Willis I chalk the loss yesterday up to the bullpen decision from the day before. I don't know why Iglesias was used in the 9th of a 4 run game when he went the night before. I know there was a no hitter, but you needlessly burned him for the next night.
@DALLASBRADEN209 Dallas, in looking at the video, it appeared to me that Martinez might have been a little too far back (behind the box). In your opinion, do you think this was on Martinez or Contreras, or a little of both?
