update - I didn't know Figma MCP could write at the time I made this, so I used the agentic chat in Figma. Just redid it with Figma MCP and it took about the same number of prompts to get there. So Figma pretty much matched it once I used the right feature.
@maxbatt The ai agent within the desktop app… however I just tried again with the actual Figma MCP server and it worked perfectly. Last I used it they didn’t have write access but it does now!
I have been a Figma fan for years but kept hearing about Paper, so I finally gave it a try.
I’m building a design resource for one of my Shopify clients website.
Same prompt in both. Just had it pull from the url I gave it. Paper nearly one-shotted it. Figma result was so funny to me.

We already have this implemented on the site, so I gave it a brief prompt explaining that I’m starting to set up brand guidelines and the first element I want is this SVG divider effect and gave it the exact URL that it appears on. I actually just tried this on Figma MCP (not agent) and it worked perfectly too. 🙃
@gleb_sexy I used the ai agent (in beta I think). I haven’t seen the html to Figma thing, can you point me to it? I’d love to check it out. Figma is still ahead I think they will beat out paper in the end, seems the mcp is the biggest difference right now and they have what it takes
