What makes me feel truly sad about this is knowing that I will never, ever see a proper film adaptation of The Magician's Nephew now.

A Universe Begins. See how Narnia was created in Narnia: The Magician's Nephew, a film by Greta Gerwig - only in theaters February 12.

Amazing how an AI generated image still manages to recreate the original book scene far better than a big budget Hollywood movie.

Looking at this picture, I imagine the giant "statue" at the end of the row suddenly rising to its feet! That would be utterly terrifying in a film.

[Hilary White @HilarityjaneArt]

No one wants the dumbed-down modernised "rock and roll" version of Narnia. These books are epic high fantasy, and that's what we want.

Jadis could turn a solid object to dust with a wave of her hand. She destroyed a whole world with one word. Even death can't stop her: she can still be summoned as a spirit, with a spell.

One of the best female villains ever created. #Narnia

[Alison Baird @bairdwriter]

I don't know who the girl in the miniskirt and go-go boots is, but she's not Jadis.

Jadis was a queen who ruled a whole world. She was seven feet tall. Her ancestors were giants. She could bend iron bars with her bare hands.

She was sorceress too...

One of the most formidable villains in the fantasy genre's history is being changed significantly in Greta Gerwig's Narnia: The Magician's Nephew. https://t.co/A8ayalnH6k

@desert_starr_57 What does she say about Adam and Eve??

@DiegoAlcan51627 @DiscussingFilm It's never night in the Wood Between the Worlds. C.S. Lewis was specific about that: the place exists between realities and never changes.

@Monk_of_The_534 @fredhechinger Wow, they do look alike!

[Alison Baird @bairdwriter]

Aaand I'm out...

[Alison Baird @bairdwriter]

So it's confirmed? I was really looking forward to this movie, but the changes they're making seem so weird and unnecessary. Not loving the altered time period either... #Narnia #TheMagiciansNephew

@Dean_Devlin Watching now on cable!

[Alison Baird @bairdwriter]

I enjoyed this episode, the dino effects were terrific and the hat tip to Doctor Who was fun. But I wish this had been a two-parter. I wanted to see the Martian civilization and the insect world, and see their war rather than just hearing about it. That would be epic!

I’m very curious if Monster Zero will be included in Godzilla Minus Zero.
