According to a recent statement from $NWBO, the @MHRAgovuk confirmed that the regulatory review of #DCVax-L remains ongoing.

But 977 days after the application was submitted in December 2023, it is time to stop being naïve. The claim that this application is simply “progressing normally” is becoming increasingly difficult to accept.

$NWBO shareholders have already endured years of alleged market manipulation by market makers and their hedge-fund clients. Now, patients and their families are being asked to accept an unexplained regulatory delay involving a treatment designed for one of the deadliest cancers.

The United Kingdom ranks 22nd out of 29 comparable countries for brain-cancer survival. That should create an extraordinary sense of urgency—not institutional complacency.

Ironically, if the MOU between $NWBO and @SpimacoAddwaeih progresses faster than the UK regulatory process, British patients could eventually be forced to travel to Saudi Arabia to receive a treatment developed and manufactured in the UK. What a devastating indictment of the British regulatory system that would be.

As an NHS surgeon, former Health Minister and MP, @zubirahmed should understand the urgency better than most. Prime Minister @andyburnham and @10DowningStreet must also recognize that years of weak political leadership are putting the country’s public-health system—and ultimately patients’ lives—at risk.

The peer-reviewed Phase III trial published in JAMA Oncology showed statistically significant survival benefits with #DCVax-L in both newly diagnosed and recurrent glioblastoma.

For newly diagnosed GBM, median overall survival was 19.3 months from randomization—22.4 months from surgery—versus 16.5 months for external controls (HR 0.80; P=0.002). Five-year survival was 13.0% versus 5.7%, meaning DCVax-L more than doubled the five-year survival rate. In MGMT-methylated patients, median survival reached 30.2 months versus 21.3 months (HR 0.74; P=0.027).

For recurrent GBM, median survival was 13.2 months with DCVax-L versus 7.8 months for controls (HR 0.58; P<0.001), representing a 42% relative reduction in the risk of death. Survival at 30 months was 11.1% versus 5.1%.

The treatment also demonstrated an exceptional safety profile: across 2,151 doses, only five serious adverse events were considered possibly treatment-related, with no autoimmune reactions or cytokine storms.

These results demonstrate meaningful survival benefits, long-term survivors and minimal toxicity in one of the deadliest cancers.

After 977 days, silence is no longer a process. It is a failure to recognize the urgency faced by patients who do not have another 977 days to wait.

I think we need to look at the complete devastation that has happened to so many in the last 3+ years.
