@just_be_dev It probably is the biggest one
I have an M4 with 32GB so I can run some medium sized quantized models but I yearn for a machine with more RAM. Should have gotten one before these price hikes tho 😅
React Native apps can be faster than native 🔥.
I'm working on a React Native macOS code editor that opens, parses, and syntax highlights twice as fast as Zed, which is built in Rust.
"React Native is slow" is wrong.
btw, this is exactly what I am talking about
"GTP5.5 is so bad, its trash"
No its not. You are such a loser.
Its the same dumb cycle every time. The moment something bets X% better (and from my experience it won ~4/5 prompt offs with gpt, so it felt better) the previous thing's value goes from "is this agi?" to "its trash" SOOO quickly.
@birch_js i got the expo-catalyst package on npm and i'm going to extract as many of the little helpers as i can from some internal projects and then see what we could add to expo-desktop. <Window/> and <Toolbar> are already in + their hooks and imperative apis

this is the kind of thing i'm trying to get up and running. i work with governments in the Caribbean and most of the islands are small so a set of departments may partner to build one app. i would like to serve each of them only relevant parts of the app
React Server Components running on React Native — no Metro, powered by Re.Pack (Rspack). Tap → the host streams its own RSC over Flight. Tap again → a Module Federation remote loads… and renders its own RSC. Each federated widget has RSC unit.
