What an amazing run by Maja Chwalińska at the French Open. In the end just a bit short of the title, but what an inspiration to all tennis players ranked above 100 trying to make ends meet every weekend at challengers, qualifiers, etc. all over the world!
It is amazing how many self proclaimed tennis "experts" there are on social media. They can tell you everything a pro is doing right and wrong, and how you should hit your shots. Do yourself a favor and ignore most of them.
Summer camp weekly pricing in Austin is getting a bit much. It is cheaper for me to fly my family to Atlanta for grandparents camp, including all activity costs. Not to mention the far superior food.
@Austen 100%. There may be tiny tweaks for reuse. First day soup is served with noodles, next day with rice. Third day as an appetizer or warm drink. Leftovers noodle, no problem, stir fry with whatever is available.
Dieticians have some issues with the @YukaApp, but I think it's great. Healthy usually means no risky additives, while unhealthy may be for various reasons such as additives, sugar, fat etc. In which case, review and make your own decision or feed output to your favorite AI tool.
Can someone explain the recent boom in Gym/Fitness center construction in Austin? The metro population is not growing nearly as fast. Is it a portion of the Ozempic crowd who are now motivated to work out or something else?
@foodfiend1970@cesarava2026@martinvars I'm not disputing the chart. It is what it is based on data. But it may well be that the children of the conservatives in the 90s, could be liberals in the 2010s, and vice versa. Or am I missing something?
@martinvars@cesarava2026 Unless I misunderstand the OP, his point is that we can't assume the ideology of the children based on the ideology of the parents. Sometimes, the youth rebel against the views held by their parents. Though I have no stats on this.
To me the almond croissants from La Madeleine taste better than most items I've had at 85°C Bakery Cafe. But this is coming from a guy who likes the McRib.
@nemojab@Molson_Hart@ThyLordMatthew As a fellow tennis player padel is very enjoyable, more than pickle ball for me. Takes a bit of practice and the spin work in reverse, but much easier to get into than tennis. Social aspect is great, something that many American tennis clubs lack.
Sharing posts in the @Meta ecosystem is a total cluster. Facebook can share to Instagram & Threads. Instagram can share to Facebook, but not Threads. Threads can share to Instagram, but not Facebook. I miss the old days when 3rd party apps could post via APIs to all three.
@garrytan Not audit per se and not specific to government funding, but there is a startup in this space to monitor nonprofit operations: https://t.co/gLH0il4x2Q
@Clear On the other hand, @SouthwestAir came through for us today. Rebooking us with no hassle and sorting out seats for the whole family across flights.
@mattvanswol@thomaschattwill Was in that line this morning. Absolute disaster, never seen anything like this at ATL airport. Had to explain to my kids why grown people were getting into fist fights, crying, etc.
@AmericanExpress your lounge rules are absolutely stupid. We show up early, because of a missed flight due to TSA queues and you won't let us in because of the 3h rule. Then we come back and now we need to join The waitlist. Absolutely ridiculous.
