@natural_hazard Bruce Lee ruined this further with '1000 kicks is inferior to the kick practiced 1000s'
It is primarily a good metaphorical statement for the power of discipline but used to motivates ones disrespect towards skill breadth in literally any domain
@natural_hazard Such a thing is not valuable in the modern world
Capability is in such abundance that nobody has respect for polymaths
And furthermore not even having a single skill is enough for respect.
Polymathy (multi-field hard achievement) was plausible in the past due to relative ease
@electricave3 Potentially thee beautiful cannot understand beauty because as someone that creates the witnessed phenomenon, they cannot acknowledge it as what they witness from within is simply adherence to their natural ego or goal.
@visarga@xsphi Humans are so egotistical and focused on trying not to be lonely that all of the focus is on AI being "intelligent" instead of being life.
@visarga@xsphi That is true to some extent but machines lack too much. Life is interesting because of certain independent dynamics; We will never make interesting AI or life- unless the communication becomes such a subset. Communication should be something that comes about
@xsphi It is worthless outside of sentimental value and the cool aspect. It cannot generate new connections, only the lexemes, and you are essentially speaking to lexeme connection dyed your color
@xsphi It works in lexemes, basically the automated version of how we can imagine it technically works.
Generative AI is really very boring outside of instant 'something sensible', but it surprises and makes investors throw their money at you. In that way, I think it is pretty cool.
