@jaredkeesee Totally agree! Scottsboro responded their numbers were wrong the same day the AHSAA emailed asking for verification. Why send out a mass email asking, if you are just going to do what you want?
@GaryALloyd 😬 This is a bad look. We all got the email asking for info to be verified. If you aren’t going to accept the corrections the schools provide, why ask? Maybe there is more to it…something we aren’t aware of. I hope so.
@CoachBGodsey@ONTHEDMARK1 @AHSAAUpdates @Heath_M_Harmon Not talking about for this year. Just my thoughts for future. If we went back to area play then it would cut travel for a lot of programs. I believe a lot of teams are having to travel longer distances.
@johnsonj42@ONTHEDMARK1 @AHSAAUpdates @Heath_M_Harmon From a softball standpoint a lot of teams have very few pitchers for the entire program. For instance, one 5A city school only has one pitcher for the both JV and V levels. That’s asking a kid to do too much. Smaller teams would struggle in region play. Not saying I’m against it.
@johnsonj42@ONTHEDMARK1 @AHSAAUpdates @Heath_M_Harmon I do see that side of it. I coach softball as well only difference we have area tournament at the end. It would be difficult for softball to follow region play due to teams not having the pitching.
@ethereum20002@GaryALloyd The more students a school has the better opportunity to pull athletes to play. So Florence has 500 more kids to pull from to play football.
@GaryALloyd What Andrew said is correct. Which is why city schools have an advantage and revenue to build such schools to help with numbers while county schools do not. If you drive thru Albertville they are truly a 7A based on revenue, population and landscape.
