There are some things that have recently come to our attention that we feel need to be addressed.
One thing about Powerhouse Sports is that we will never shy away from discussing real issues and real problems, especially when they involve student-athletes. Our mission has always been to support and advocate for the kids who put in the work every day.
Over the past several weeks, we’ve received multiple messages regarding coaches who were relieved of their duties after voicing concerns about what they believed to be unprofessional actions or decisions by school administration. Whether every claim is true or not, the growing number of concerns being shared is worth paying attention to.
What concerns us most is this: when coaches, parents, and even students raise issues, why do so many feel like their voices aren’t being heard? If meetings are being held and concerns are being presented, why do some families leave feeling like nothing has changed?
At the end of the day, these situations aren’t about adults winning power struggles or protecting egos. The people most affected are the student-athletes. They deserve stable environments, strong leadership, and adults who are willing to put their best interests first.
We aren’t pointing fingers at any one school or individual. We simply believe it’s fair to ask the question: Are some schools losing sight of what’s most important—the kids?
That’s a conversation worth having. 👀🔥 @MrWayneJohnson@Stan1Houston@TalkoftheTownFB@SouthernCharmSp@AverageJoesSpo1
