Revisited it the other week. It’s incredible. The last half hour is a study in fear, with a protagonist who’s utterly helpless and just waiting for the axe to fall. Winstone great, Kingsley iconic, but the really chilling performance comes from Ian McShane, channelling Satan.

Finally out of the bag! Maya Hawke will play Calista, a musician drawn into the world of Billy Wilder & Iz Diamond, played by Christoph Waltz and John Turturro, as they shoot “Fedora” on Corfu with William Holden (Jon Hamm). Stephen Frears directs Christopher Hampton’s script.
