Our graphic illustrates molecular timers that measure histone exchange on DNA genome-wide using a single sample of cells. The timers report on the DNA co-residence time of two genetically tagged histone subunits of choice.

Comparing daily cases of general population vs. medical personnel (among the first to vaccinate), shows similar trends to those reported by @segal_eran, possibly avoiding some of the biases introduced in age-group comparisons (e.g. different age-profile for new variants)
Caveats: Diminished perception of danger among medical staff may reduce their testing following possible exposure. But this should also be true for the general population
