You have institutions that are supposed to identify corrupt people and prosecute them. You have courts that are supposed to do it. We have seen in this country people who are facing corruption charges who basically just get those charges dropped because they belong to the right political environment or have the right political support. We have people who have legal processes where people are questioning if in fact, it is a fight against corruption or political persecution.

130 days is far too long. The continued captivity of schoolchildren abducted in Mussa and Lassa, Borno State, is unacceptable. We cannot allow this situation to become another statistic or a forgotten tragedy. I commend our security forces for their successes elsewhere, including the rescue of the Oyo schoolchildren. But that success must reinforce the urgency of bringing these children home, not diminish it.

I call on the Federal Government and our security agencies to make their rescue an immediate operational priority and deploy every available intelligence and security resource towards securing their safe return.

I also urge the people and community leaders in the affected areas to continue supporting the security agencies with credible information and cooperation. The fight against insurgency requires both decisive government action and responsible community partnership.

These are Nigerian children. Their lives are at risk, and their families have waited long enough. We must do everything within our power to bring them home safely.
