Wolf Cukier was doing summer internship at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland. His job was to check data from TESS satellite which hunts for planets outside our solar system by looking at star brightness changes.
On third day only he spotted unusual dip in light from a star system called TOI 1338. At first he thought it was eclipse of two stars but timing did not match. He flagged it and senior scientists checked for weeks. They confirmed it was a new planet orbiting two stars called circumbinary planet like Tatooine in Star Wars with double sunsets.
