My quote from the New York Times today:
Adeo Ressi, Mr. Muskโs college roommate at the University of Pennsylvania, said the SpaceX chief never cared as much about financial gain as obtaining resources to help him achieve his entrepreneurial goals. For Mr. Musk, โmoney is a means to an end,โ Mr. Ressi said, comparing his friendโs mind-set to a gamer accumulating coins in a video game to beat a level.
โHeโs amassing resources to do things, and the thing he wants to do most is colonize Mars,โ Mr. Ressi said. โThatโs a really big driving force behind his wealth accumulation.โ
He added that Mr. Musk was โnot a poster child of wealth inequalityโ and pointed to the tech leaderโs lifestyle, in which he is known to work around the clock and avoid the typical trappings of the rich, like islands and megayachts.
โItโs not like heโs planning to leave this in a massive family trust,โ Mr. Ressi said. โItโs literally going to be used to make humanity into a multiplanetary species.โ

The future is unpredictable, but with math and logic we can estimate the most likely outcomes.
Probabilistic thinking means asking: What are the relevant priors? What do I already know that helps me understand this situation?
Example: A headline screams "Violent Stabbings Double!" Of course this sounds terrifying. But if your risk went from 0.01% to 0.02%, should you actually worry? Bayesian thinking uses what you already know (violent crime at decades-low levels) to properly weight new information.
Another asymmetry: How often do you leave "on time" and arrive 20% early? Almost never. How often do you leave "on time" and arrive 20% late? All the time. Our probability estimates consistently skew over-optimistic.
We can't predict the future with precision, but we can identify what matters, estimate the odds, check our assumptions, and act with higher certainty.

Time is one of our most valuable assets. If you aren't using deep research AI tools (GPT5 Pro, Perplexity Pro, Gemini DR, etc) for your online and research tasks, you're simply wasting time at this point...
Today we're announcing Routines. A new project from Density
Routines is designed to help older Americans live independently longer
It's a radar sensor + ai agent that anonymously measures:
> caregiver arrival (in home or facility)
> unexpected absence

Adeo Ressi (@adeoressi) wants to make launching a VC fund as easy as starting a startup. His Decile Group just launched Start Fundโa platform that lets anyone spin up a venture fund in hours, with no legal costs.

@adeoressi ..pondering the balance between creation and human connection. You are a master connector! Here's to embracing both happiness and focus as part of the journey. ๐ฅ
Decile Group just raised a $14M seed to eliminate the $100K and 6-month barrier to launching a VC fund with our new Start Fund offering. We are now working to launch 10,000 new VC firms worldwide to talented entrepreneurs everywhere have access to venture capital.
I have spent years watching strong investors hit the same wall. They had vision, they had network, they had deal flow. But, they could not access the capital formation tools reserved for the privileged few.
We built Start Fund because the barriers were artificial. The $100K legal fees, the 6-month formation cycles, and the $1M minimum closes are gatekeepers. The Start Fund provides:
๐ก Zero formation costs
โก 1 day launch
๐ค $10K LP minimums
๐ฑ $150K closes
๐ Automated processes
๐๏ธ Institutional-grade
Six hundred applications arrived in two weeks. These are not speculators. These are AI executives, successful entrepreneurs, ecosystem leaders who were locked out by excessive costs, long timeframes, and unnecessary complexity.
We are obliterating the barriers of entry to venture capital and democratizing the asset class. If you love this mission, we are hiring.
