@mattiewhs@Demon_Realms@ArktikUtka@suicideposter That's fair! I guess the grass is always greener, I see the prices of homes in Texas and feel similarly. Rent aside, detached homes are hovering around $1m π€£, I think the Ontario average is like 800-900k now lol
@LumLotus@RwStonks Re-read the original question. You interpreted it as being a poll on X. The original was presented as an omnipotent button that*everyone* privately votes on. It being on X is a made up factor in favor of red.
Red's the logical choice if all actors are rational. Blue's assumption is that not everyone is(Ie, babies/elderly can't reliably pick red on their own).
That reframes the choices to +/- odds of killing blue. The question is - do you think ppl who can't pick red deserve to die?
Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.
@WackyMatthew91@noelle_1025@NoMansSky It's a question worth asking though, it's not something dumb to ask. Just because something serves as hi-res geo, it doesn't mean it has to be *high* high. Could be because of necessary detail OR it could just be someone quickly slapping on a few subdivs as a quick workflow.
@Kintakus@SumeragiAkeiko @AINOxbiz Ah sorry! I'm not a Twitter user, was referring to the reply. I'm not familiar with Skeb/Bao/online art comm culture- I'd understand the onus is on her if that's the norm. But otherwise, usually someone is more likely to seek legal action than a simple Twitter request!
@SumeragiAkeiko@Kintakus @AINOxbiz Ie, working with Meta, I wasn't allowed to share after release. Or when I worked on a TV show, I could only share final shots and no wips or breakdowns. I was pretty surprised to see that there's an online culture where it's the norm for the artist to be able to freely share lol
@SumeragiAkeiko@Kintakus @AINOxbiz Are you referring to online artists? Working professionally, the onus has always been on us artists checking with the client what we can do. Though to be fair, NDAs are also the norm.
@TheArtofBella It's important to recognize that our few years in art school doesn't need to dictate the rest of our career. It's not about giving up, but tempering expectations about our industry, and recognizing that it's *not* over, it's just a detour.
@TheArtofBella I empathize with you, but I think it's more about not placing your eggs in one basket. Our skillsets are more diverse than we give ourselves credit for, and it can be used to find work in adjacent fields. At least on the anim side, our bubble has popped. 1/
@TaliMarie3D @PikminMan I agree with Des! I fell into the category of "constantly stressed about being productive outside of work" and I found that a lot of my peers who didn't had much more balanced and fulfilled lives (and they still excelled at work too!) Don't give up your life for 3D!
@Nodemi_ Yes and no! If the studio isn't geared for Houdini, it doesn't change anything.
That being said, I myself was brought on recently just to fill a bit of a tech role gap using Houdini for set dressing, since the other modelers are busy with building the assets. There's a niche!
@SolidCalaca@TheVilageIdiot3@NinjaSenpai5@OrdinaryGamers If people are working around it by pausing with other menus, there's 0 reason to not implement it fully lol.
Let people pause if they want, and hardcore players can play as is. π€·ββοΈ
@AnimatedFox3D @AshtianiRon @Killborg2 Fan art has always been a morally grey area. Plenty of people have gotten C&D's.
Artists have always called out people who try and pass off another artist's style or trace.
Stance has been pretty consistent.
@ActualStaddy@artofjeffp I mean, the answer isn't just one or the other. It's not like you're doing a low poly asset but slapping an 8k map on top.
I recently did a test with a 500 TRI* limit for a character, using 512 textures. Sometimes you just need to push it really far.
@MasterIsabelle9@Teastainss I'm saying this as an artist working in the industry.
My old coworker who worked on the original Star Wars is still out of work. Including the strike, there ARE people who became homeless, has to change jobs, etc .
I don't use A/I, but villifying our peers is misguided.
