Vegan advocacy is basically no different to flat earth or anti-vaccine advocacy in scientific quality. The environmental benefits of switching to veganism are marginal at best, on both an individual and collective level. Animals still die from plant agriculture, and often more animals die from it than in animal agriculture. I have nothing against people who adopt a plant-based diet upon the recommendation of a qualified healthcare professional, but the idea that it makes one morally or environmentally superior is really dumb.
