@JDunlap1974 I can’t stand for national anthems, I can’t stand for minute’s silence/applause. I am not “foreign”, I am mobility-impaired. Do I respect anthems or memorials? Of course I do, I just don’t stand (it’s getting up & sitting down). Stadium announcers should say, “Stand if you can.”
@fotomac First red was correctly a second yellow, aggressively (and needlessly) pushed an opponent.
Second incident, player recklessly and dangerously swung outstretched arm towards face of opponent (again needlessly). Definitely violent conduct, so red understandable. Not seen other six.
@moveon_9910 Move the two horizontal sticks of the left digit. Place them to the left of what had been the first digit, vertically one on top of each other. It turns 090 into 11190
@Eva_flag Remove the two lower horizontal matchsticks of the middle digits. Move the matchstick to the left of the left digit and place them vertically, one on top of the other. This will turn the number 937 into 1977.
@KeruboSk Yes, sorry to name drop, but from 1978-1980, I had brief conversations with former British Prime Minister, Harold Macmillan (born 1894) who was head of the publishing house of the same name where I was an employee. Three grandparents (and two great aunts) were also born in 1800s.
@sky_rugby What decision was given? Green jumps for the ball with blue and appears to catch it cleanly. He then goes to ground and is touched so a legal tackle has been completed. However, as Green regains his feet to play the ball, he appears to drop it cold.
It looks like a knock-on to me
@Vesper_0987 Move the middle horizontal of the left number. Make it the lower left vertical of the right number.
Rotate the middle horizontal of the middle number to become the lower left vertical.
Thus, the 8 becomes a 0, the 9 also becomes a 0 and the 5 becomes a 6.
895 becomes 006.
@ben_kay8 There was not excessive force in the challenge & neither foot was off the ground. They are mitigating factors.
Unfortunately, the defender ran some distance & dived in with both feet.
Given the player dived in two-footed, he made it easy for the referee to show red, not yellow.
@aynii_00 Increase it by 995.
1. Take the two left vertical sticks of the last digit (8) and move them to before the first number (5).
2. Create a new first digit with two vertical sticks on top of each other creating a 1.
New number is thus 1,503.
@ThatAlexWoman Did you sample any boozers outside of central London? I have been to 6 of these 10 over the past 49 years and know many pubs outside TFL Zone 1 that are better, certainly cheaper and much less pretentious.
@NoContextBrits They’re grilled or fried/deep fried so they can go in FEB. It’s things that get stewed or poured from tin into pots or saucepans that have no place. Grilled tomatoes, halves/quarters, are fine. Seeds of Satan & stewed tomatoes are sins against humanity when it comes to fry-ups.
@AndyGrundy10 I remember him as one of the fastest and most dangerous wingers in the Second Division in 1980/81, Fulham’s first season. Top 3 were him, Henderson Gill (Rochdale) and Geoff Pryce (York).
@sallythomsett Hi @sallythomsett, I had a pretty good Sunday. I think all dogs in Bernie’s breed look less than happy after they’ve been sheared. He’ll get over it quickly … unless we get a very cold snap. He looks so much cuter after he’s been groomed. Love & hugs to you, Charlie & Bernie.
Thinking further about today, England could not cope with the speed of the Kangaroos backs and power of their forwards.
How many of the England 17 got a higher mark than their opposite number? Not sure there was one.
On to Liverpool next week, but I can’t see a different result.
Final hooter. Wane looks heartbroken; England rarely looked like scoring and were under the cosh for long spells. 6–26, and it could have been far worse for the hosts.
Writing grammatically correct English on X/Twitter is an offence punishable by being unfollowed. I, too, believe in well-crafted sentences and paragraphs, always ending with a maximum of three characters remaining in the single message allowance. It might lead to a bit of waffle.
I insist on using a full stop at the end of sentences when I send text messages. Apparently, my junior employees hate this and our HR liaison had a word about it. It's not that I don't care but I've been writing for 47 years now. Changing that muscle memory is hard.
I have come to a decision to take a step away from playing football. I am grateful for all the amazing people I met during my playing career. Thank you to @HendonFC and all the clubs that I had the pleasure to represent. On to the next 🎉🎉🎉
