@journobill My Prince Philip story: I was 15 doing media work exp when he came to the royal manor school on portland, in dorset. Took one look at the crowds of kids waiting and said "so you're all related to each other are you?!" ...1/2
Las imágenes de seguridad del refugio de animales captaron a un perro asustado con un gran San Bernardo.
Tuve un San Bernardo y esta es exactamente la forma en que son de cariñosos❣️
¡Los adoptaría a ambos!
🇹🇷 A stray cat in Turkey shows up every morning to hug the man who fed her.
Not sometimes. Every single day.
His shop is now packed with people who come just to watch.
My grandfather said he’d never move into a retirement home.
He said, “Too expensive… and the food tastes like someone boiled sadness.”
Instead, he checked into a beachfront hotel.
We asked, “Grandpa, isn’t that even more expensive?”
He smiled and said, “Not really.
At the retirement home, I’d pay $200 a day for cold meatloaf and no visitors.
But here? For $150 a day, I get ocean views, room service, fresh towels, a pool…
…and suddenly all my grandkids remember I exist every weekend.”
Then he leaned back in his chair and delivered the final line like a mob boss:
“And if I die in the hotel lobby, the manager will actually look disappointed.
But at the nursing home? They just call it Tuesday.”
A baby otter at a British sanctuary, who was initially afraid of water, gradually becomes accustomed to it and learns to dive thanks to a device devised by zookeepers that requires it to enter the water to catch fish.
My second @WomensPrize shortlisted book for 2026 and I feel like I've been punched in the stomach. An emotional exploration of first love, grief and the myriad ways we betray each other as humans, this is a worthy nomination
Is spending hours reading my book helping me address all the personal issues I need to sort out?
No.
Am I going to put my book down and deal with my problems like an adult?
Also no.
Sonny was left behind by his old family. He waited but they never came back. He got sick but he never stopped waiting.
After saving him and building him back up we found Sonny a new family. Look at what it means to him now to belong somewhere again!
Women: I want to go for a run.
Society: You can’t go alone. You’ll get raped.
Women: I want to walk to my car in the parking garage.
Society: Alone? You better get someone to escort you, or you’ll get raped.
Women: I want to live alone.
Society: You need a gun, an alarm system, a dog and probably a gun for the dog too.
Women: What about going to the park?
Society: Dangerous.
Women: Okay, I’ll just go out for a drink then.
Society: Don’t take your eyes off your drink. Watch out for predators spiking your drinks. Stay alert at all times.
Women: I was raped.
Society: Are you sure? That just seems impossible.

Rocky was broken. Terrified and lashing out. His eyes were red raw and bulging with pain.
Look at the soft and dignified dog he is now. He can also see quite a bit.
Rocky was down but he wasn’t out ❤️
Saw two adolescent boys absolutely terrorizing a family of geese across a huge public park lawn. No reason. Just for fun. Scaring them. Chasing them. Trying to kick them. I was fifty yards away. “Hey! Leave the geese alone!” Nothing. “Hey!!! Stop chasing the geese!!!” They looked at me and hesitated. Then kept going. I summoned the spirit of every soul brutalized by men and said “LEAVE THE BIRDS ALONE!!!!!!!” The entire waterfront park stopped and the boys RAN to their dad.
I am at the point where I have zero embarrassment for calling out men of every age for their actions. Whatever sickness men have, it starts young. It starts taking pleasure in the distress of others. I simply won’t stand for it.
And parents! The fuq ya’ll doin with these boys????????
My partner and I just got a rescue cat, and I can honestly say it's the most life-affirming thing I've ever done. In just a few days, this little angel has gone from timid and hiding under the bed, to boldly sitting at the top of the stairs where she can survey all, or cuddling us like we've known each other a decade. We know she's had some abuse. With us she'll have nothing but patience, love and treats for as long as she lives.
13 years ago, I stole my neighbor's dog. As a puppy, she was left in their back yard with no shelter, no food and no water. She was neglected in a way no living thing should. In the dark of night, I would take her food and water. It didn't take long for the starving baby to solely sit beside the fence we shared. One night, I went out, unwove the chain link enough to pull her through, and took her away from those awful people.
Eight ball, as they called her, was renamed April.
5 weeks ago I was told about Dolly. A tiny dog dumped on the streets. Close to death. She wouldn’t have lasted much longer alone.
Today her health is improving, her fur is growing back, the light is in her eyes and she is looking like a supermodel.
Love you Dolly Parton ❤️
I was at a bar alone yesterday when the bartender said, “Hey, check this message from my sister.” He showed me his phone and it read, “Under no circumstances should you get into a conversation with the guy sitting on your right.”
Men, if you’re ever in a position to do something like this, please do it.
