my take on our qb situation:
start rattler. if he performs well with a solid cast around him, then great. we have a qb. if he performs terribly and we get a top pick in next years draft, also great
i'm no scout, but it feels like we're forcing a qb pick if we take shedeur
Spoke to 4 NFL teams in prepping for this column. None of them had a QB other than Cam Ward in their top 30 prospects. Two of them didn't have a first-round grade on Ward.
This is not the year to go QB hunting in the first round....
I’m not bringing a QB into their current situation.
Trade back, start Rattler, stockpile picks, create a flexible cap in ‘25 and ‘26. They desperately need to rebuild (have needed to since 2022).
Sounds like Spencer Rattler is all in on his preparation for this season. He'll be in attendance on Monday when the voluntary offseason program opens, I'm told.
The Saints if they play this correctly and don’t panic buy a QB now, can be set up to have ANY QB they want In 2026, which is better class. It just will take Loomis continuing the reset they begun last year. Roll your cap space over, cut Carr next March. Pick whoever you want at QB with #1 pick
