✑ I really like turnaround stories, and I hope they get it right.

✑ The biggest task for the management will be to give customers reasons to choose Okin, and nostalgia alone will not cut it. Nostalgia may generate an initial interest, but it won't keep demand going.

✑ Look around, and see the OGs that used to be peers in those days. How many of them still manage to be relevant today? And how many already folded?

Cabin biscuit? Speedy? Pepper Snack? Fishly? "Pako" biscuit?

Or even the ones that came after? "Beloxxi"? "Chic Choc"? "Parle G"?

✑ The likes of Yale are still trying (these ones even recently bombarded the market with different products and SKUs), OK Foods (makers of Pure Bliss), and Nasco are still trying.

✑ Overall, while the original product and packaging can be treated as the heritage edition, the coy may also want to consider developing one genuinely competitive, modern product as the growth engine (possibly richer, creamier, or otherwise differentiated).

✑ Expand only after proving repeat purchase.

✑ And then there is distribution - and that shii gulps capital. I hope they are ready.
