You can intuitively understand his point as a sane adult.

Most children only see the goal scorer. They do not yet have the mental depth to register the intricate plays, the blocks, the duels, the through passes, the assists. They see the end product.

Then they grow up, assuming the brain grows too, and they begin to see the entire pitch. That is when they realise what they had been missing. Mbappe was making a lot of sense here.
