Everybody’s Guide to Natural ESP by Ingo Swann (1991) The Book That Gave Regular People the Tools the Government Spent 23 Years and $20 Million Trying to Control
If you know nothing about remote viewing or psychic phenomena, start here: In the 1970s the U.S. government got deeply involved in studying whether people could gather accurate information about distant or hidden targets using only their minds. This became a classified program that ran for over two decades (various code names, finally called Stargate), cost roughly $20 million, and operated out of places like Fort Meade. They used structured methods to try turning natural human sensing into reliable intelligence collection during the Cold War partly because they believed the Soviets were ahead in similar research.
One of the central figures in the early research was Ingo Swann, an artist who had unusual experiences since childhood (near-death events, invisible friends, ghost sightings). He helped develop the protocols the military later used. Then, in 1991 while the classified program was still running he published this book.
It’s not a spy manual. It’s the civilian version.
Swann’s core claim is simple but explosive: extrasensory perception isn’t rare or supernatural. It’s a natural function of the deeper mind that most people have buried under layers of programming. He calls that interference the Mind Mound the massive accumulation of “this is impossible,” scientific skepticism, cultural dismissal, and fear of looking crazy that sits on top of your actual sensing ability and distorts or blocks it. Disbelief isn’t neutral. Studies he references (Sheep-Goats effect) showed that people who believe psi is possible measurably outperform disbelievers in controlled tests. The mound has real effects.
Underneath it sits what he calls the ESP Core the active center that can directly perceive information beyond the physical senses. It often works in preconscious processing (before your thinking mind gets involved) and delivers raw impressions in shapes, textures, feelings, and movements rather than tidy words.
The most practical technique he gives is picture drawing. When you try to describe impressions verbally right away, your analytical brain hijacks everything. It manufactures associations, fills gaps with plausible bullshit, and turns clean data into noise.
Swann’s experiments (and earlier 1880s research he dug up) showed that drawing raw impressions first without naming them bypasses that interference. Historical examples from the 1880s (ordinary people like George Albert Smith and Miss Edwards) already demonstrated the same patterns: accurate core information mixed with distortions, consistent across different individuals and decades. Swann called this a universal “pictolanguage.”
Swann also warns about psi-missing temporary shutdown of ability from pushing too hard or overtraining.Stop while you’re still sharp.
He frames the whole thing as bioinformation raw data your system can access from what he describes as a second, interconnected reality. Natural barriers exist to prevent overload, but training and clearing interference can widen access. He ties it to dreams, memory, creativity, and even bioelectromagnetism research the Soviets were doing.
While the government version stayed classified and protocol-heavy (designed for operational control), Swann’s book strips it down: clear your own Mind Mound, draw raw impressions before words interfere, analyze honestly, and trust the deeper self.
If you’ve ever had strong hunches that proved correct, dreams that matched reality, or moments of knowing something you shouldn’t have known, this book gives you a framework and actual methods instead of dismissing it or turning it into mysticism.
The deeper sensing was never gone. Most of us were just trained to ignore it under piles of programming.
This is still the most direct, adult invitations to stop outsourcing your own perception.

@theralkia Then they pull the mask off and realise ppl are just nothingness consumer dittos replicating others, everything other than being authentically themself.
@HunterBiden You tell them power is given to those willing to drag themselves low enough to pick it up.
Then be supportive as they go through hell, that limboic space between the ways of old & changing their life.
Create new routines, do the opposite, replace bad habits with positive ones.
