Keep talking about Sarla Bhat. They want her story silenced, but the world needs to know who she was and what happened to her 36 years ago. Don't let them forget her.
Breaking: Sources in Kashmir Police say that during #SarlaBhat investigation it has got other significant leads. Several other cases of Hindu minority killings will be reopened for investigation and to bring the accused to justice @Openthemag
When Sarla Bhat was cremated in Kashmir, a mob of over 200 people descended upon the crematorium and stomped over her ashes.
Were they all JKLF militants?
A day later her house was bombed as well.
Her cousin speaks to News18 J&K.
Last night VIJYANT THAPAR my son fought dutifully for the country's honour but he was not destined to see the beautiful Sunrise on the 29 jun 99 & thereafter. However his legacy has continued to inspire the soldiers and the youth of the country. Love you son. Mother
@MnshaP Having been on it many times - it was horrifying to see how many journos stole miniature bottle of booze - got drunk and wouldn’t care too much for the press briefing . Worse - I remember on a South Africa tour , some journos ripped off hotel phones , lamps etc ..
Breaking: Sources in Kashmir Police say they have cracked the case of the killing of Sarla Bhat, a Kashmiri Hindu nurse, who was abducted on April 18, 1990, from close to SKIMS, Soura. Chargesheet will be soon filed against 5 accused, including JKLF’s Yaseen Malik @Openthemag
I remember when the BJP claimed that they’d given you footage of money exchanging hands during the 2008 confidence vote. You refused to air it. Yet every tweet of yours reeks of an undeserved air of moral superiority- much like Pakistani diplomacy.
@dmuthuk We don't expect you to indulge in fake news about selling gold. And you should be happy now that Congress has come to power in Tamil Nadu.....

The date was December 23, 1912. Delhi's Chandni Chowk area
British Viceroy Lord Hardinge was leading a royal procession on an elephant grand entry into Delhi after transferring the capital of British India from Calcutta to Delhi.
Just then, a beautiful woman standing in the crowd waved her hand. No one suspected anything, but death lurked beneath the pallu of her sari.
She was not a woman, but 17-year-old boy, revolutionary freedom fighter Basant Kumar Biswas.
At the behest of his mentor, Rash Behari Bose, he had disguised himself as a woman to breach the security cordon. Basant threw the bomb with perfect precision. The explosion was powerful, injuring the Viceroy, he survived but his Mahavat (driver and keeper of an elephant) was killed. Amidst the ensuing stampede, 'that girl' (Basant) quietly disappeared and returned to Bengal.
His father passed away some time later. While he was busy performing his father's funeral rites, the police arrested him.
He was subjected to unbearable torture behind prison bars. He was kept naked in the bitter cold, starved, but not a single name of his fellow freedom fighters came out of this 19-year-old's mouth. The British officers were astonished that at an age when boys play on the ground, this boy was playing with death.
The final scene before the gallows when he said, "I will come again."
His execution was scheduled for May 11, 1915, in Ambala Jail. Basant Kumar Biswas was only 20 years old at the time. He became one of India's youngest martyrs.
It is said that as he was led to the gallows, there was not a trace of fear on his face. Rather, his face bore a smile like that of a groom leading his wedding procession.
He told the executioner, "Don't be afraid, brother, do your job. I will merge with this soil so that the plant of India's freedom may grow stronger."
When the noose was placed around his neck, he loudly shouted "Vande Mataram."
His voice echoed through the high prison walls, reverberating all the way outside.
A revolutionary brave man like Basant Kumar Biswas sacrificed his identity, his youth, and his life
for the freedom of India.
Hail the revolutionary freedom fighter Basant Kumar Biswas!!!
Hundreds of salutes 🫡 🫡 🫡 to you!!!
Jai Hind 🇮🇳 🙏
@yashoazad It is good to have a neighbour that's doing good economically and it makes sense that the illegal Bangladeshi go back to their country to take advantage of the progress over there. Since we are a poorer country than Bangladesh, I suggest that there should be reverse migration.
If I follow your posts it is a long wish-list of things you want to survive:

KASHMIR 1940s: When the Shahtoosh shawl was legal and a giant men's size one cost only Rupees 90. Gold was also around Rs 90 for 10 grams. And the phone number had only two digits - '33' here.
The calendar employed by many merchants was the Hindu calendar and not the Gregorian.
The Ganju House was the foremost Kashmir Arts' and Jewels' firm during the British Raj with exclusive stores in Delhi, Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar with its headquarters in Srinagar.
Attached is a ledger in the name of my great grandfather Pt. Nand Lal Kitroo and his nephew Pt. Balji Ganju who owned the Ganju House.

I genuinely never imagined that a reputed hospital like Apollo Cradle Sector 82 Gurgaon could put senior citizens through such an exhausting, stressful, and negligent experience.
My mother was admitted today for a minor procedure. The procedure was completed by 4 PM, and the doctor cleared her discharge by 5 PM. What followed after that was absolute chaos, incompetence, and complete disregard for patient care.
The hospital administration failed to submit the insurance claim on time. When they finally did, they submitted it with the wrong amount and incorrect procedure code. After wasting hours, they resubmitted the bill again around 8 PM. Then, despite the claim already being pre-approved, @HDFCERGOGIC denied it due to the their staffs error—something even the insurance team acknowledged and asked them to resubmit.
Meanwhile, my elderly parents were left stranded in the hospital for hours with zero empathy, zero urgency, and no accountability from the admin staff.
By 10 PM, after over 5 hours of unnecessary delay, I told the team to stop the drama and simply process the payment on my card so we could leave. Shockingly, they then generated a completely different bill and inflated the charges even further.
Even AFTER payment was completed, they still kept us waiting another 45 minutes without providing the final bill or discharge summary.
And to make matters worse, during discharge, the staff negligently removed my mother’s drip needle improperly, causing her to start bleeding while walking toward reception. I have photographs documenting this negligence.
What should have been a smooth 1–2 hour discharge process turned into a humiliating 5+ hour ordeal for senior citizens who deserved care, compassion, and professionalism.
Hospitals are supposed to reduce stress during difficult times, not multiply it through incompetence, mismanagement, and complete insensitivity toward patients and families.
If you care about your loved ones, especially elderly parents, think twice before taking them to Apollo Cradle Sector 82 Gurgaon.
Today’s experience was not just disappointing but it was deeply disturbing.
