Back in February, when we dropped our #BTS cover story, RM dropped some hints that the Grammys weren't the band's top priority these days. Just today, the band announced via coordinated Instagram posts that they “have decided not to submit for Grammy consideration this year.”
“We hope our music can be heard and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language. We thank Army and everyone who has always stood by us,” the message said.

Oh and before all of you other fandoms talk shit and get it twisted, ARIRANG IS the album of the year. SWIM IS the song of the year. And lastly, BTS IS THE ARTIST OF THE YEAR. The numbers don’t fucking lie.
#BTS has announced they will not submit their chart topping album ARIRANG or any of its tracks to the 2027 Grammy Awards.
The decision represents a massive financial, cultural & reputational blow to the Grammy itself. In past few years, Remember Grammy Awards have struggled ++
and let me tell you something, I absolutely love how bts members take their decisions together and always act as a joint force. this group’s bond is incredible.
Using an image of his character from the “Hooligan” music video, RM is dressed in a ‘70s “OldBoy” style as the message is shared. He looks like he’s ready to take on the fight – which he does in the music video. Or could it be a callback to his lyrics from the song that “rejects pop music rules”, “Yeah, we the mess, gonna get a bigger mop here (Bigger mop) / This that K, gotta get a better pop here (Better pop) / You gon' hear this one playin' 'round the clock, yeah ('Round the clock)”
V used his League of Legends Master rank background as his message board. The rest of the members kept it simple with just their statement.
BTS’s lack of presence in “music’s biggest stage” is their way of saying they’ve had enough with them.
Forbes spitting facts. 👏🏼👏🏼
