At Kiju Hill Primary School Patiko, we had engagements with the pupils, teachers, Rwot of Patiko together with the locals.

The school going children where encouraged to be focused and remain in school so that they can be better people.
Also gave out some scholastic materials.

Our visit to the Aruu Falls was worthwhile! Located in Pader off the Gulu-Kitgum highway, the scenic grandeur of Aruu Falls makes them yet another of Uganda's natural wonders.

I thank the @GovUganda which continues to support the tourism sector & through the funding availed, a number of tourism sites are up for development in the next FY, Aruu Falls included.

I also commend the work of private players like @odongaotto who has established accommodation facilities among other amenities to ease visitors' stay at Aruu.

In my launch post, I mentioned my plan to delve into history and explore captivating landmarks.

Right now, we're at Fort Patiko, situated about 36 kilometers south of Gulu city. It's just a short 45min-1hr drive, making it an ideal excursion destination.

Let me paint for you a vivid picture of this extraordinary place we're exploring right now and a short story behind this historic fort.

Fort Patiko served as a military outpost during the 19th century to the Arab traders and played a significant role in the slave trade. You can witness the remnants of its once-mighty walls and imagine the stories of the past that unfolded within its confines.

It is a place that invites reflection and allows us to connect with the complex history that shaped this region.

The site is open to the public with a small fee of 5,000 for UgAdults, 2000 UgChildren and foreigners $5 which grants you access to explore and learn more about this historical place.
