@airindia Thanks for your response. This issue has been looked into multiple times without resolution, which is why I raised it with the consumer forum. I can share the grievance docket number via DM if you can ensure someone actually reads the complaint instead of sending generic replies.
Is @airindia quietly running a scam with seat selection refunds? After 8 months of follow-ups and multiple complaints (@jagograhakjago), I finally got a refund for one flight—but they keep ignoring my second, replying with copy-paste messages.

@airindia Hi, I still haven’t received any communication regarding this. To ease your burden, I’ve raised a case on your website regarding the downgrade and refund. I can DM you the case ID if needed.
1/ Is @airindia running a scam or just world-class incompetence? Third time now—paid for a seat/upgrade, reached the airport, and surprise! The aircraft has “changed,” so my seats are moved back. Refund? Another long fight. @MoCA_GoI@jagograhakjago
@airindia I upgraded directly on your portal, so I don’t understand why I should contact a travel agency. Attaching the screenshot of the upgrade confirmation email I received from Air India.
@airindia Still no email, call, or any update—despite sharing my details multiple times. Saying you’ll refund is one thing, actually following up is another.
@airindia Appreciate the response! Just trying to understand—Boeing 777 has almost double the seats compared to an A320, yet all were magically full? Does @airindia have a unique seat allocation strategy, or do you take double the bookings?
@airindia@DGCAIndia 7/ And the worst part? I was a loyal Vistara flyer. Moved my reward points post-merger, and now I’m stuck in this mess. Can’t even use my points without getting played. What a way to reward loyalty, @airindia.
@butterdfly@airindia Nope, I’ve been pushed back to a 43 middle seat. Looks like they clubbed flights and put us in a Boeing 777. Honestly, feels like a scam—selling seats, changing them, and making you fight for refunds. Already lost ₹3,000, still fighting for ₹6,000, and now this too!
Upgraded to Premium Economy with @airindia, but at the airport, I’m told the aircraft changed, and it’s no longer available. Now forced to move to Economy with a refund—no option to upgrade to Business due to system issues. Frustrating experience! #CustomerService
Professional ghosting 101:
"Great meeting! Let’s take this forward."
You follow up → "Let’s reconnect next week!"
"Just checking in!" → [Seen. No reply.]
"Hope you’re well?" → [Not seen.]
...and then, silence.
Ghosting is a response—just not a professional one. #Networking
@airindia Thank you for your response. I’ve replied to the DM and would truly appreciate it if you could go the extra mile to ensure a positive resolution and restore my confidence in your service.
@airindia You took all details last time too, but after weeks of follow-ups, you said you couldn’t do anything. Now, when your agent released the seats from the backend, how can you claim they were ‘utilized’ and deny the refund after 120+ days? This is unacceptable.
@GoibiboSupport Thanks for responding. I’ll DM the details, but I expect real action this time, not just another assurance. 120+ days is unacceptable. Looking forward to a quick resolution.
