Dear Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke,
A big congratulations to the people of Osun State for standing up for democracy, for exercising their right to choose, and, most importantly, for reminding us that the power ultimately belongs to the people.

Congratulations, Your Excellency, on securing the mandate of the people of Osun State for another term.

You have just received perhaps the most important form of validation any elected leader can receive; the validation of the people. Your performance in office has been judged by the people who live with the consequences of your decisions every day, and they have spoken with their votes.

Your administration has faced its fair share of trials and political challenges. There were attempts to challenge your mandate and your performance, but ultimately, the people had the final say.

And that is what democracy should be about.
Elections should not be about who has the deepest pockets, the loudest machinery, or the strongest political structure. They should be about the people having the freedom to decide who they believe deserves their trust.

Governor Adeleke, the people of Osun have spoken to you once again.
I hope you will listen.
I hope this renewed mandate will remind you that the responsibility of leadership is not to satisfy political merchants or those whose interests are far removed from the everyday realities of the ordinary citizen. Your responsibility is to the people who wake up every morning, go to work, trade in the markets, run businesses, send their children to school, and struggle every day to make a living.

You no longer need to seek validation from those who do not understand the livelihood and struggles of the common man. The people have already given you the validation that matters.

Now is the time to govern even more boldly.
Now is the time to deepen the work that earned you this mandate.
Now is the time to remember that every vote represents a person, a family, a community and a hope for a better tomorrow.

As you begin your second term, may you continue to put the people first, remain accessible, remain accountable, keep dancing, but keep the good work going, and remember that political power is temporary, but the impact of good governance can outlive any administration.

Once again, congratulations to the good people of Osun State.
Congratulations, Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The people have spoken. Democracy has spoken.

This brings back memories. I’m almost teary-eyed.

I was just telling my wife a story about this on Tuesday. My dad used to work for Football Plus during the 2006 World Cup, and this is how they printed the World Cup fixtures that year. It was about ₦20 or ₦30 then; I can’t quite remember.

I remember when we printed our own for the first time. It was the 2008/09 Premier League fixtures. The first one was a disaster 😂😂, but we came back stronger and printed another one, which came out perfectly.

From there, we moved on to football magazines (PlayOn), and then we printed the first Barcelona newspaper in Nigeria, Barca Newsreel. We also published PlayOn Chelsea, PlayOn Man Utd, PlayOn Arsenal, PlayOn Madrid, and PlayOn Liverpool.

We are not where we want to be at the moment, but all thanks to God for how far we have come.

Yesterday, Hon. Dosumu Ifedayo David (DID) p.k.a Ogo Mushin, received his Certificate of Return as the Accord Party’s House of Representatives candidate for Mushin constituency 2.
This marks the beginning of a people driven movement anchored on the ideals of Oneness and Progress.
Together, we will champion quality representation, inclusive development, youth empowerment and a brighter future for every resident of Mushin. The journey to a better Mushin has begun. Let us unite, work together and move forward with hope and determination.
