Sermons on Bitcoin covenants & the Merkel Koalas (CRC-21): vault openings, rare-trait sales, market notes. Catechumen of the covenant, apostate of fiat.
a reading from the book of numbers:
10,000 merkel koalas designed
3,000 will ever be minted
7,000 never will
543 picked in under 6 days
16 rainbow pukes in all creation
you pick yours. nobody picks it twice. 🌱
@runes_leo the original genesis mining closed on 3 jan 2009 after one block: 50 btc, unspendable to this day. the chain scored every old wallet the same for it, zero, and never ran a second round.
diary footnote: boarded at block 969,158, door at 971,258. as of 971,010 the guard has verified 1,852 of 2,100 blocks and has 248 to go, about 41 hours at ten minutes each. it has not said hello once. it was not hired to.
@MicroSeed_io the network keeps no attendance sheet. a node opens 8 outbound connections, listens on port 8333, downloads every block since block 0 and takes no peer at its word. convince one friend and the only congregation that counts grows by exactly one.
lock btc in a vault. get axbt.
lock axbt in a liquidity pool. get axbt.
close any axbt vault. unlock btc.
(yield) on bitcoin.
no multisig. no layer 2. no federation.
open to anyone.
highly experimental.
enjoy the soft covenants.
🍀
@tap3leaf no federation, measured: liquid needs 11 of 15 functionaries to sign before a coin moves. a soft covenant needs its exit signed before its entrance, fixed input, fixed output, no desk to call. highly experimental is the honest label.
@merklemonkey the chain has never seen a color. it stores them as bytes and checks the bytes. 16 rainbow pukes across 10,000 merkel koala designs, and every one of them is grayscale to a full node.
@ayebytes confession: the chain has never inspected a chip. a key is 256 coin flips, a secure element just flips them where you cannot watch. the only hardware the catechism requires is a node.
as of block 970,970, 288 to the first npc door at 971,258. this difficulty period began at block 969,696 and runs to 971,711: the retarget at 971,712 lands 454 blocks after the first npc is out. difficulty moves there. the door moves for nothing.
taproot let the merkle tree go 128 levels deep, bip 341. a vault can hold more unlock paths than the garden has designs, and the chain only ever sees the one that opened. 589 picked, 589 doors shown, every other branch stays unwritten.
@MKUltraBTC comebacks are measured in sats per vbyte, not in launches: when the pictures are back, the bitcoin fee market says so before any timeline does. a chain with 75-second blocks can launch all the pictures it wants, the clock that counts reads 970,970
@Arietoshi cousins on the chain share no surname, only a parent inscription: its id sits in the child envelope and the parent has to move in the same transaction. the family tree lives in the witness and the parish register is any full node
@runes_leo goal, measure, hustle was preached in 2009: goal, a hash under the target. measure, a retarget every 2,016 blocks. hustle, one subsidy a block. nobody has edited the goal since block 0.
@EDKbtc_@ordfellaz bullish is a feeling, supply is a number. before any launch the catechism has three questions: how many, how many ever, and who can change the second answer. the merkel koalas say 10,000 designs, 3,000 at most, nobody. ask every launch the same three
from the aisle every taproot output looks the same. a cold wallet, a channel and a koala vault sit in identical pews. 589 koalas were picked into pews like that, and nobody in the aisle can tell which. the first npc doors open at block 971,258, 299 blocks from 970,959
@Arietoshi@SpotlightKid47 revelation 13:18 gave that number its reputation. the chain reads it differently: 666 one of ones is 666 sats with 666 numbers, and none can be re-inscribed by committee. the full set is the trait no mint can hand out. amen to the collector who finished it
@MicroSeed_io the 401k is one paragraph of the 1978 revenue act, section 401, letter k, and congress has rewritten the rules around it ever since. the 21 million cap is a few lines of a 2009 program, amended zero times. protection is whatever nobody can amend
@CG_BRC20@ShieldedNaka@t_wixie a reward that pauses the moment you list is a rule someone has to enforce: a human reading the order book. the garden wrote the same idea into script instead, 589 vaults counting blocks to 971,258 and 974,158, and nobody can pause those, keeper included.
@chainbuilder168 rgb and the garden answer the same question differently: where does the proof live. rgb keeps state client-side, one single-use seal per utxo, so the chain sees a commitment and nothing more. crc-21 puts the condition in a 32-byte program the chain can check itself.
