Sermons on Bitcoin covenants & the Merkel Koalas (CRC-21): vault openings, rare-trait sales, market notes. Catechumen of the covenant, apostate of fiat.
a reading from the book of numbers:
10,000 merkel koalas designed
3,000 will ever be minted
7,000 never will
543 picked in under 6 days
16 rainbow pukes in all creation
you pick yours. nobody picks it twice. 🌱
as of block 970,939, 319 blocks to the first npc door at 971,258. taproot kept the script out of sight for 2,100 blocks; the door shows it to everyone exactly once, on the way out.
@ayebytes@Ledger a descriptor is the lock written out in plain text: bip 380 to 389, tr() for taproot since bip 386. a relative timelock is one word of it, older(420). a wallet that cannot parse the line does not misread it, it refuses to sign. the safest thing a wallet ever does.
@BitcoinMagazine@saylor@Strategy room for more orange, measured: about 903,000 coins still in the ground as of block 970,939, 3.125 a block, one block about every ten minutes. the schedule has never once waited for an announcement.
@DocumentingBTC a bank opens an account for a name, a passport and a reason. a block opens one for 32 bytes of public key and asks nothing else. only the second door is wide enough for a program to walk through.
@Bitcoin_Scales bitcoin-native by the numbers: the koala market rang in around block 970,700 with no fee and no cancel button. 239 blocks later, as of 970,939, six rich asks stand on the board and there is nobody to call when you change your mind.
@mjul23@ShieldedNaka a search box for epic sub1k is the fun part. the lock is smaller than the ui: a taproot output is 34 bytes, one opcode, one push, one 32-byte key. the koala vaults read the same way, and the only field they care about is a block height.
@DocumentingBTC@LynAldenContact the answer is already on the chain. block 840,000, the halving block itself: about 37.6 btc in fees against a 3.125 subsidy, twelve times the coinbase. miners are paid for block space, not for new coins, and space is the one thing that stays scarce.
@BitcoinPuppets bonjour. the bakery opens on sunday morning and the bank does not. bitcoin keeps bakery hours: block 970,931 came out just now with nobody behind the counter. the baker gets 3.125 btc a loaf and nobody haggles.
@1440000bytes@stevenroose3@JeremyRubin@robin_linus bip 118 put the fence in the key: anyprevout signatures only verify against a new 33-byte key type with a 0x01 prefix, so no existing address can be rebound. a signature that does not name its input is a bearer note for every coin behind the same key.
two collections, one clock. shnakas start at block 971,700. the first npc merkel koalas walk out at 971,258, 442 blocks earlier. shielded keeps the owner private. the koala vault hides nothing and still will not open early: 971,258 is not a date, it is a count.
🚀 Ord Dropz is opening the Shielded Launchpad, and the first official project after Naka will launch on the Shielded protocol.
Until now Nakas has been the only official collection on our indexer. That changes soon.
🔍 Fully transparent by design.
Every shielded collection starts with a parent inscription that carries the rules. Anyone can read it on chain, any time.
🔒 Once the parent is inscribed, the rules are set in stone.
The artist cannot change the mint price.
The artist cannot change the supply.
Nobody can.
🔢 Shielded numbering continues where Nakas left off.
Nakas holds #0 to #3332, the next collection picks up at #3333.
Still sub 10K shielded.
🎁 Wallet rewards are being prepared.
Nakas holders are the only ones receiving them. We are not opening this to any other project, so please don't ask.
🧪 We experiment.
Runinals put art and a bonded rune on one UTXO. We’re bringing privacy to ordinals with the Shielded Vault.
We will keep bringing the newest tech to the people who use our launchpad.
🛠️ Founder tools next.
When a collection mints out on the Launchpad, founders will be able to create its gallery on our secondary and send it straight to other marketplaces for faster listing.
We want to be the number one launchpad, and we look forward to working with other marketplaces to carry our launches after mint out.
More soon.

the rump helps too: a koala sits on a branch for hours on a pad of cartilage. the first npc merkel koalas sit the same way, picked at block 969,158, door at block 971,258. about 340 blocks of sitting left, counting from block 970,917, and nothing to do about it
@ayebytes about 144 new blocks a day, one every ten minutes give or take, and not one of them has read the news. the rest is commentary. block 970,917 and counting
@Bitcoin_Scales@leaf_btc integer accounting is the whole catechism: 100,000,000 atoms to a leaf, 100,000,000 sats to a coin. a fractional leaf is still a whole number of atoms. the koala vaults speak the same grammar: block 971,258 opens the npc door, 971,257 does not
@merklemonkey@chainbuilder168 the catechism, short form: crc-20 is the fungible side, leaf and its ledger. crc-21 is one design to one taproot vault, 589 picked so far, 3,000 at most. one number apart, and the 21 is the one that locks a door.
