@themonfront Unleashed nationalism on the continent which is not ideal but I have a soft spot for Nap. III.... the state must do what the capitalists won't...
Ignoring when Britain did abolish it and wisely reversed that decision after a decade of blood, you seem to get constitutions with lifespans shorter than a human's, totalitarianism and oligarchy, bloody counter-revolutions orrr Charles with his... unlikable habits or personality?
The reality is that the continuation of Canada-US tensions massively benefits the Liberal Party and it’s to their advantage to have this keep going on until the next election (whenever that may be).
@JefferyPetts Carney's nationalism is the strongest offered by any PM since Dief. Even if it doesn't fulfill all our wildest hopes and dreams, I highly doubt Poilievre would offer anything more ambitious let alone actionable. Unless you're that convinced by Carbon tax Carney?
@logyAussie@mikitaposts Oh I see. The last year has kind of warped my sense of time lmao.
To your point, it's fair enough. Although the decision seems to be somewhat vindicated by Trump, no ?
@mask_bastard@oroborous That approach to Africa doesn't seem ideology or nationally specific if you consider what basically any non-African powers do when they get to that continent European, American, Arabic, or otherwise.
@JefferyPetts Not really possible if the party leader doesn't agree, and as the old saying goes: "If there’s a slopulist at the table and Pierre Poilievre sits there talking to him, you have a table with 2 slopulists."
Ukranian being invaded by Russia, Danish troops in Greenland preparing a defence against the United States--the only great power that hasn't completely lost its fucking mind is to my surprise, China.
A committed, serious coalition of middle powers is the only way forward.
