“Doctors are being paid N400k per month,” Actor Wole Ojo raises alarm
E shock u abi?
This won’t gain traction
Considering that a Senior Registrar contracted and died from LASSA FEVER chasing these kinda Salaries
Needle pricks that give Health workers and Doctors Hepatitis and HIV full everywhere…
Some later develop complications from these diseases and die.
Do you know what Hazard Allowance for Doctors in Nigeria is? 32k-40k depending on your level in service. That is ~400k per year. Which amongst Lassa, Hepatitis and HIV can that treat for you in a year?
General hospitals across the country are having less and less doctors, Teaching Hosyamd other training facilities are having fewer and fewer Residents to train.
You see the lacuna being created of shortage of healthcare workers and Doctors, we will soon crash into the lowest part of that pit and it’ll take decades to get out of.
This is a National Crises that is fast becoming a National Disaster.
And guess what, It’s now a National Emergency that no one is taking their time to face.
Enough said….
Parents in Nigeria: you see this 400g of Milo your kids drink every morning?
It has more sugar than SIX cans of Coke.
Yet, Nestlé sells healthier, low-sugar versions abroad.
I studied this & here’s what i found.
Walk with me
@aedcelectricity The light situation in Lokogoma is now unbearable, started out like a joke in the month of January and it has consistently worsen over the months, now if we see light it’s a miracle, what exactly is going on @aedcelectricity
I am just returning from the Custodial Center.
I was meant to re-interview just one person: remember the guy that got sentenced to death for defending himself against two armed robbers that attacked him?
Yes, today as scheduled for his further interview.
However, sequel to the said interview, the Officer in Charge, whilst on soft patrol, reached out to me and commended me for taking conscious effort to decongest the custodial center under his care. He was most impressed.
So, whilst at it, inmates without lawyers were referred to me.
I handful of them and some of those cases are worth sharing, after spending more than 4 hours [t]here.
1. Interviewed an inmate, let us called her EUO.
- She is 18 years old.
- Her father died when she was still a child (she is told).
- She hawks "agidi" and lives with her grandmother.
- Accused of armed robbery.
- She was arrested sometime in August 2024 alongside three men between ages 45 - 49 - all accused of armed robbery.
- When the police arrested, they tortured her to the point that she confessed to be an armed robber and wielding a gun.
-But at the Custodial center and during interview, she opened up that she never did any of those things: that it because:
1. the hung her upside down;
2. used lighter to burn her vagina;
3. tortured her until she could no longer endure the torture she received.
- One of the suspects arrested with her, who flatly denied being an armed robber, subsequently died at the police correctional center, owing to the torture meted on him at the Police Station.
- She was asked to produce 150k for her bail at the police station. But since she could produce the said 150k, she subsequently remanded.
- It is her case that she was prevented by the police from reaching her grandmother at all material time.
Her family is not aware of her whereabouts as I make this tweet.
I will be representing her pro bono.
CASE THREE: Let us call her IMS.
- She is 21 years old.
- The young man that got her pregnant was poisoned while she was with the pregnancy of her child.
- Upon his death, a certain aunt in the neighbourhood volunteered to take care of her, but shockingly floated the idea of her selling her unborn baby to a third party.
- It is her case that she stoutly rejected the idea.
- As time progresses, she was due for delivery.
- At the place of delivery, the aunt mentioned above, again, was negotiating her yet to be delivered child to a third party in her presence. When the baby was delivered, the said aunt took the child and abandoned her to her fate.
- Because she was weak to protest, she relaxed, but immediately headed to this aunt's house and demanded for her child...
- She was bleeding all through - for someone who just put to birth.
- The said aunt under reference surreptitiously reported this inmate to the police and she was arrested the very night she put to birth.
- She was detained at the police station for ONE week, even as she was yet to heal for child birth.
- Subsequently, she was remanded at the correctional center as a way of putting her away.
Right now, she does not know where her child is and what may have happened to the said child.
I have taken up her case and will be representing her pro bono.
I have never seen a government more determined to impoverish and destroy the people’s entire lives like this.
You should share this so the entire world see what the average nigerian is going through.
This is unbelievable. #30daysrantchallenge
